The Intensive Support Service is for those caring for a person living with any form of Dementia and where:
- Their caring responsibilities are seriously affecting their own health.
- They feel that they can no longer carry on caring and are nearing a crisis.
- The health of the person cared for is declining.
- The person cared for is in hospital or about to come out of hospital.
We know that caring for someone with Dementia can, at times, be difficult and that the person caring can, at times, feel at crisis point. If any of the above points apply then perhaps our Intensive Support Team may be able to help you.
This unique Intensive Support service has been set up to help you to find new ways and strategies to cope with the caring role. We aim to identify ways to improve the carer's own health and wellbeing and help them understand Dementia. One of our trained specialist Dementia Advisers will make contact to offer tailored support. Offering an expert listening ear, they are there to talk openly about the difficulties being experienced.
This service is for those caring for a person living with Dementia. You can contact Alzheimer’s Society Cambridgeshire directly – no referral is required. Person referred must be able to consent to the service.
