NEW CANCER GROUP LAUNCHED IN CREDITON

Mid Devon PCN, in partnership with Involve Mid Devon, is pleased to announce the launch of a new support group for people affected by cancer. This initiative aims to create a welcoming space where those living with cancer, as well as their families and caregivers, can find comfort, share experiences, and access vital resources.

The support group will meet regularly, offering a range of discussions, and guest speakers to provide practical advice and support. Both organizations hope this collaboration will help build a strong, local community of support and solidarity for anyone touched by cancer.

The first phase will see the launch of monthly coffee mornings held at Homeleigh Garden Centre, Barnstaple Cross. The group will meet on the first Wednesday of the month, starting on Wednesday 2nd October 2024, 11am – 12.30pm.

“We are so pleased to bring local, much-needed support to the Crediton area,” says Paula, Health & Wellbeing Manager at Mid Devon PCN. “We know that being with people who truly understand what you are going through can be a great help.”

“This initiative has been developed with the guidance and help of Macmillan to ensure the right support is provided” Tamlyn, Crediton Community Builder, Involve Mid-Devon explains. “We held some listening events at the start of the year which helped us understand what is needed. It has been made possible thanks to a grant from Macmillan, enabling these services to be offered to the community”.
