Second Saturday Tea

We run a monthly social tea on the second Saturday of every month for older people who want to meet others locally in a very informal setting. There is no need to be particularly interested in Quakers to come along—although there are some leaflets available and some of our volunteers who can discuss questions (even if we don’t have the answers!).

We often have some form of entertainment which can be musical or creative. We have also had quizzes and a bring and buy sale. There are also games. Best of all, we have home made cakes, and of course biscuits, tea and coffee. There are special concerts before Christmas accompanied by mince pies and in the summer with a cream tea.

At this time, we cannot offer transport but Dial-a-Ride and Taxicards are used by some of our guests. The Meeting House is wheelchair accessible and we do have a hearing loop should it be needed.

We start at 2pm (doors open at 13.45) and are finishing by 4pm. There is no need to book although if you have questions please phone Cynthia on 0208 393 1383. There is also no membership fee or subscription but we do rely on donations at the tea. We also occasionally collect for a good cause linked to the organisation providing the entertainment.

We have been running for some 12 years.
