As the Middlesex Association for the Blind, we provide several services to support people with Visual Impairment. (See www.aftb.org.uk for more details). One of these services is a Befriending/Home Visiting Service. This service is available for anyone who has a visual impairment who is over the age of 18. People are welcome to self-refer, to to come to us as referrals from local authorities or from other organisations. Once we have your details, our Support Worker will visit you in your home. She will discuss your needs with you, and if you would like to, you can become part of our Befriending/Home Visiting Service. You will be matched with a volunteer if possible, or alternatively, you will be visited regularly by our Support Worker. You will also have the opportunity to join our monthly VIP group, which is a coffee morning held from 10:30am to 12:30pm on the last Wednesday of each month at The Wealdstone Library, 38 – 40 High Street, Wealdstone, HA3 7AE. Joining us will enable you to break the isolation that you may be experiencing as a result of sight loss. You will meet other people who are also facing this challenge, and be able to form new friendships with like minded people.
We support anyone who has a visual impairment, who is over the age of 18.
