Tai Chi and Qi Gong

Tai Chi and Qi Gong combine deep breathing and relaxation with flowing movements. They are practiced around the world as a health-promoting exercise. The Chinese Community in Peterborough is hosting free in-person sessions.

Tai Chi and Qi Gong are related ancient Chinese practices that combine deep breathing and relaxation with slow and flowing movements.

Gentle exercise like Tai Chi can help improve both physical health and mental wellbeing. Research has shown that Tai Chi can help people to reduce stress, improve blood circulation, boost the immune system, improve posture, balance and general mobility, and increase muscle strength in the legs.

This gentle exercise has been found to be particularly effective for those who have arthritis and other chronic conditions as it is does not worsen pain nor cause breathlessness.

Both are suitable for all ages, fitness levels, abilities, and experience. It does not require equipment. You can exercise anywhere, any time.

The Goldhay Centre is located behind the Premier convenience store and other shops at the end of Paynels street. There is a small carpark across the road from the shops, where parking is free. The Centre has a toilet.
