Culture to You - Volunteer Offer

Do you have a few hours to spare each month and would like to make a difference in your community?
Help us to deliver our exciting new project, Culture to You, in Oadby & Wigston.

We are sharing museum artworks, objects and fun activities with individuals and communities who struggle to get to our museum and heritage sites. The collections we use, have been selected to be shared in non-museum spaces to allow a wider audience to access them. Our handling objects also allow for a fun and interactive experience.

We’re looking for volunteers who are friendly and interested in art and culture. Be it, a chat about an artwork, reminiscence inspired by an object, or a craft activity shared and learned together, we have a lot of simple and joyful ways to engage with our collections and make someone’s day!

We're offering:

  • Opportunity to enrich lives, enhance wellbeing and reduce social isolation in your community
  • Be part of a team which pilots a new and exciting Arts Council funded project
  • Gain experience of supporting people of different ages and abilities
  • Training provided including: Object handling, safeguarding and dementia awareness
  • Activity plans and all resources / materials provided
