Refugee Employability Support

• Tailored Support: REP offers end-to-end support through dedicated case managers, including personalized development plans, free ESOL classes*, and up to 18 months of continuous guidance. All case managers have access to “clear voice” support 

• Employability support with focus: we can offer small bursaries that are specific to supporting participants in sustainable work. This could be to gain specific qualifications or convert their current qualifications to UK standards. 

• Community Engagement: We will support a service user to integrate into their communities, with support with looking at local services e.g. Doctors, Dentists, Libraries and offer signposting services.

Service access criteria:

Package A: Supports refugees under the UK Resettlement Scheme, Afghan Citizen Resettlement Scheme, Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy, and Community Sponsorship. These cohorts are eligible for employment support only. o Package B: Targets refugees who do not have access to government or community-funded support. This package provides full support across three pillars—employment, English language, and integration—ensuring holistic assistance. Broad Coverage: The programme is active across key London boroughs, including Barking & Dagenham, Islington, Newham & Havering.  Eligibility: • 18 + yrs and under state pension age • Actively seeking work and or ready to take the next step to securing employment • Not in full time education  • Does not have an illness or disability which prevents them from working • To be eligible an individual: should be a legally recognised refugee or have been granted protection in the UK; should have Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or Leave to Remain with a pathway to settlement • For arrival under mandate resettlement scheme and community sponsorship schemes eligibility will begin 25 Feb 21 to align with the introduction of UKRS • Those granted refuge permission to stay will be eligible if they are granted on or after 28th June 22 • Those arriving under refugee family reunion will be eligible if their sponsoring refugee is eligible.
