Pohwer

POhWER is a charity who provide information, advice, support and advocacy to people who experience disability, vulnerability, distress and social exclusion.

POhWER was set up in 1996 by service users who, tired of others making assumptions about their capabilities and views, wanted equal access to information and a voice of their own.

In East Sussex POhWER provides a range of advocacy services as follows:
Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA), including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and Relevant Paid Person's Representative (RPPR)
Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA)
Independent Care Act Advocacy
Independent Community Advocacy
Children and Young People's Advocacy
POhWER delivers the IMCA and RPPR service as part of the Sussex Advocacy Partnership. We work with Mind in Brighton and Hove, MindOut, Brighton & Hove Speak Out, Sussex Interpreting Services and Impact Advocacy. How do I get support from an advocate?
