Cancer Wellbeing Service - NHS

The Cancer Wellbeing Service, run by North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust at the Peterborough City Hospital, provides a wellbeing, support and information service for anyone affected by cancer, including people who are:

Newly diagnosed with cancer
Having treatment for cancer
Recovering from cancer
Living with cancer
Experiencing long term effects after cancer
Friends, family or colleagues
Healthcare Professionals
The building is on Peterborough City Hospital grounds, but in a separate building. It is a lovely, warm, welcoming space with beautiful gardens, where you can find a place to have a cuppa, read, chat, or talk to staff. You are greeted at the door by friendly volunteers who can help you find what you need.

Specialist staff are available to offer advice and a listening ear. There are also a wide range of support services available, including individual or group support and information sessions, such as:

- Benefits advice and support
- Healthy diet and exercise sessions
- Getting back to work
- Therapies such as acupuncture
- Art and craft therapies
- Qualified counsellors
and more! View the drop-down menus on their 'About Us' page to see the range on offer.
The centre also offers a variety of resources and Macmillan Cancer information leaflets.

You can meet the team and also read some patient stories for inspiration. Visit their website for more information.

All of the services are free for both people with cancer, and relatives who are also seeking support for themselves. No need for an appointment, you can just drop in – opening times can be found on our website.

Transport and Interpreters can be arranged for those attending appointments or booked group sessions. Please call 01733678570 or email nwangliaft.cancerwellbeing@nhs.net as soon as possible with your requirements.
