We work with Polish families that experience multiple disadvantages and have complex needs, such as substance misuse, homelessness, or domestic violence. Many of them struggle to cope with these issues and develop serious mental health problems over time. Over half of clients who contacted the Polish Domestic Violence Helpline suffered from depression and/or had suicidal thoughts and 70% of people felt isolated from their family and friends.

We support Polish families with their mental health issues through our counselling service. Even those clients who could speak English very well preferred to access counseling in their native language as it was a language of emotions and feelings for them and they found it easier to express themselves and find the underlying cause of the problem in their native language.
