Run For Your Life

Free, supportive, safe running groups for people who want to get into running or get back into it after a break. Build up at your own pace – no-one gets left behind!

What to expect?

Run For Your Life is  sociable and supportive group running led by trained leaders who want you to have a fun running experience, whatever your age or ability. Runs are between 4-7km, but you can go at your own pace and walking/running is fine. No-one gets left behind and everyone in the group is supportive of new or less experienced runners. Groups are small (no more than twelve people), and every run starts with a short briefing and some warm-up exercises, and ends with stretches and chat. Each run is about 30-40 minutes long and you can go at your pace.

Wear comfortable clothes, trainers and something reflective in case you will be running in the dark or by a road. Bring water – running is thirsty work!

Run For Your Life group sessions are beginner-friendly, but if you want to build up your fitness before attempting a full run, Run For Your Life also offer ‘Couch to 5km’ sessions – see the website for details.

More information

To find out when and where sessions take place, visit the website.

Before you take part, you’ll need to register online and book each session so that run leaders have your details (this is for your safety and so they know how many people to expect). This process is very simple and administered by England Athletic’s ‘Run Together’ programme.

Volunteering

If you’d like to train to be a Run For Your Life group leader for your village, then email Carrie who can advise.
