Gamlingay Cinques (BCN Wildlife Trusts)

Once part of Gamlingay Great Heath, Cinques Common is a small nature reserve of about three hectares and a popular spot for local walkers. It is managed by the Wildlife Trust BCN.

What to expect?

This is a small and peaceful nature reserve on heathland, perfect for walking and soaking up the natural environment. It is part of the 40 mile Greensands Ridge Walk which crosses Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire – more information here https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/info/82/countryside/434/walking/2

There are no education centre, cafes, shops or public toilets on site but there is a free car park. Access is via a ‘kissing gate’ so not ideal for wheelchair users or pushchairs. Come dressed for the weather!

All Wildlife Trust BCN nature reserves are open all day, every day but camping, campfires and BBQs are not allowed. Dogs are allowed if they are on lead.

Wildlife Trust BCN nature reserves sometimes have restricted access to protect paths or to undertake essential forestry work, for example. Please check the website before you visit.

Visiting these nature reserves is free, however donations to the Trust are welcome.

This nature reserve is managed by The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire – to visit more reserves in the area visit the website.
