Volunteer with Form the Future

Form the Future work with students and young people to connect them to a future of vocational possibility, by helping them develop employability skills and careers awareness.

They are seeking volunteers to go into schools and deliver their programme of outreach activities in 2023 and have a busy Spring Term coming up with more than 40 sessions to deliver.

You can see their full calendar of activities at formthefuture.org.uk/events but in summary, their current outreach activities are:

  • Mock Interviews - volunteers interview a series of students across the course of a morning or afternoon
  • Enterprise Days - dragon’s den style challenge to find, develop and pitch a business idea that solves a local or community problem
  • What's My Line - where children ask working people questions about their vocation and try to guess what it is
  • Careers Carousels - mini-careers fair with half a dozen volunteers, each in a different classroom telling students about their vocation and answering their questions

Anyone can volunteer regardless of their vocation or working status, with no previous experience neccessary.

Form the Future will get in touch with you - once you have registered at formthefuture.org.uk/volunteer - to chat about what activities would suit you best and to ensure you are well-prepared in advance of your first session of volunteering.

At the school on the day Form the Future staff member will be on hand at all times to lend further support. The organisation can reimburse travel expenses up to a set amount for volunteers to travel to schools (contact them for details).

Form the Future supports schools to provide high quality careers information, advice and guidance – inspiring the next generation to aspire to the careers of the future. Volunteering opportunities in various schools across Cambridge City, South Cambs and East Cambs and Peterborough.
