Wokingham Adult Education Courses
Verified service

Each year Wokingham Borough Council’s Adult Education Team receives funding from the Education & Skills Funding Agency to deliver classroom based courses which are aimed at developing the skills, confidence, motivation and resilience of adults of different ages and backgrounds in order for them to:

  • Progress towards formal learning or employment and/or
  • Improve their health and wellbeing, including mental health and/or
  • Develop stronger communities

The curriculum is delivered through a mixture of internal courses facilitated by the Adult Education Team delivered remotely and when restrictions ease from Covid-safe locations across the borough, and sub-contracted provision. We aim to complement existing provision offered by other providers in the area, rather than compete with them and each year make a number of referrals to Activate Learning at Bracknell and Wokingham College and Reading College for accredited maths and English courses.
