English courses for speakers of other languages courses

Our English courses for speakers of other languages, or ESOL courses, are tailored courses for Devon residents for whom English is not their first language

  • You can gain the English skills needed to become more involved in the community, including completing nationally recognised qualifications
  • You can gain confidence in using services such as health and welfare, communicating with your children’s school and getting by in the UK
  • We can guide you towards further study and training

Our groups are small and welcoming with never more than 10 learners. The groups consist of learners of different nationalities and different levels of ability. Our tutors are experienced, friendly and passionate about teaching English to non-native speakers.

To join an ESOL course you will need to fill in our contact form to arrange a call back from our team. Alternatively, you can call your nearest centre at your convenience. During the call our friendly team will arrange an initial skills check appointment for you with one of our learning support co-ordinators. During your appointment you will be able to decide whether joining one of our courses is the right thing for you. We will also be able to get an understanding of the level of your English skills and ensure you are joining the right course.
