Community Kitchen Volunteer

CDARS Community Kitchen Service is a vital resource for residents in South West London who are struggling with food poverty and social isolation. We provide free nutritious meals to those in need, helping to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.

Our service also offers cooking and food shopping classes for marginalized individuals, empowering them with practical skills to improve their health and independence. For those facing employment barriers or lacking work experience, we provide volunteer opportunities that help build confidence and vital workplace skills.

The Community Kitchen was launched as a rapid response during lockdown, delivering grocery boxes and healthy meals to isolated clients. Due to its positive impact, it is now a permanent service, supporting over 300 clients each year.

We are based at St Mungo’s Wellbeing Centre in Wandsworth, working in partnership with the "Putting Down Roots" project to teach vulnerable people how to grow their own vegetables, and linking with CDARS’s allotment service.

Who can access the service?
