Active Recovery

Active Recovery was launched in 2017 in partnership between Derby County Community Trust and the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton Trust.

It aims to support those who have undergone cancer treatment to regain confidence, fitness and strength which can all be affected by chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy.

Weekly sessions take place across Derby and are free (for 12 months) to anyone in the five years following their treatment. Activities vary and are planned to target key areas affected by certain cancers.

We have recently extended our project into the north of the county, working with the Chesterfield Royal Hospital to support their patients through physical activity too.

All staff who deliver on the programme are trained at a minimum of Level 4 Cancer Rehabilitation meaning they can provide advice on other aspects of recovery, including health eating and fatigue.

Individuals are welcome to make self-referrals using the form below or organisations can also submit referrals on behalf of patients.

For more information please fill in the form below or contact us on 01332 416140 or activerecovery@dcct.co.uk.
