Coffee Shop

CLASP is an exciting, interactive and supportive charity, supporting adults with learning disabilities in the Wokingham Borough and surrounding areas. We offer a range of services which include having lots of fun but also working hard to make a positive difference to our community.

Our mission is: “To develop independence through self-advocacy for adults living with a learning disability”.  We deliver this through workshops and training, providing resources and signposting, and peer support.  We’re a small team of staff, volunteers and trustees and are a well-established part of the learning disability community.

CLASP believes that everyone should be valued and treated equally.  Staff and self-advocates work together to raise awareness of learning disabilities and important issues affecting the local learning disability community.  We empower people with learning disabilities to have the same opportunities and choices as everyone else.  Self-advocates are involved in all areas of the charity’s delivery and our Board of Trustees and staff team includes people with learning disabilities.

Our Coffee Shop is a relaxed and friendly place to meet CLASP members and staff, and make new friends. We regularly have events and guest visitors, and you can find out what is going on in the area.  We also have volunteering opportunities for our members. It’s held in an accessible location in the town centre where everyone is welcome.

We meet every Tuesday at 10am to noon in the Bradbury Centre coffee shop area.  The coffee shop has very reasonably priced drinks, snacks, light lunches and cakes.

It is free to come along.

If you are anxious about coming on your own, do not worry -  we offer a buddy scheme so someone can meet you and bring you along to introduce you.

You do not have to be a member of CLASP however our membership is free and you then have access to everything we do.
