Holistic and Practical Well-Being Support for Local Families

Alternatives Trust East London is a small charity (Registered Charity No: 1103724) that empowers vulnerable women, and by extension their families, in the London Borough of Newham to maximise their mental health and wellbeing and transform their lives.

We provide free, professional talking therapy, advocacy support, skills and education courses, weekly family hub meetings and other social events and fulfilling volunteering opportunities. All of our services are supported with excellent on-site creche facilities for preschool-aged children and travel expenses can often be covered, in line with our policy. Our focus on parenting support looks to limit the impact of poor mental health on the families of the women we support, particularly during childhood development.

We believe that all women - particularly those surviving in circumstances of unstable housing, abject poverty, no recourse to public funds and suffering the effects of trauma - deserve to be listened to and supported. For the sake of themselves and their families.
