Strength & Balance

The classes are suitable for older adults who haven’t exercised before or who have started to experience a decline in their physical ability. There are two classes available: A Beginner/Intermediate class which lasts for 45 minutes and an Intermediate/Advanced class, which lasts for approximately 1 hour. Each class is taught by a qualified and knowledgeable instructor who will be able to answer any questions you might have. You will be able to exercise at your own pace in a positive environment and meet others in your local community who are at a similar ability level. There is a mixture of standing and seated exercises. You will need to be able to stand for most of the class and be able to walk around the hall. Please bring a mat or a towel for the Intermediate/Advanced class as there will be some floor work included. Don’t forget to bring some water to stay hydrated and wear comfortable clothing and shoes that are suitable for exercise.
