Community Transport in the Blackdown Hills

Volunteer car scheme offering transport to and from medical appointments, social groups or activities and shopping or other personal appointments. Available to anyone resident in the Blackdown Hills (Devon or Somerset) who does not have access to their own transport. Journeys can be undertaken within the immediate local area and to surrounding towns/cities including to acute hospitals in Taunton, Exeter and Bristol, depending on volunteer availability. Passengers must be mobile enough to be able to get in and out of a car although wheelchairs can be provided if required to assist with access at the destination - please request this on booking. Mobility aids such as sticks, frames and walkers can be accommodated - please advise on booking. Volunteer mileage expenses at the rate of 50p per mile plus £1 booking fee must be paid in cash on the day to the Volunteer driver. BACS payments/invoicing can be arranged on request. Where possible please allow at least 48 hours notice when booking, we cannot guarantee to fulfil transport requirements at short notice. Note we also have a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle available for passengers who need to travel in a wheelchair. Call or email us to request transport.
