Open Age - Hammersmith and Fulham

About us

Open Age was established in 1993 and we’re now celebrating 30 years of championing an active life for older people. We work across Kensington and Chelsea, Westminster and Hammersmith & Fulham to enable anyone aged 50 or older to sustain their physical and mental fitness, maintain an active lifestyle, develop new and stimulating interests and most of all, have fun!

Our vision is a world where we all age well and live better for longer. We exist to connect older people to an active and fulfilling life. We believe that life’s just begun for people over 50. As a membership organisation, we do whatever we can to help our members lead happier, healthier and more sociable lives, and in doing so we help our members overcome loneliness and isolation.

Membership of Open Age is free and we offer a range of low cost activities and events - we typically charge just £1 for an hour's activity - which help our members build a community together, rediscover past hobbies or find new ones, and most importantly, have fun in a warm and stimulating environment. Everything we do is designed specifically to meet the needs of our members.

We have our own centres in Westminster and K&C while in Hammersmith & Fulham we run activities in community venues across the borough. We also run activities online so people can join in without leaving their home.

There are lots of ways that Open Age can help you. Our specialist services include our ‘Steady & Stable’ programme is to help people who are prone to falling to improve their balance, while our Men's Space activities offer a warm welcome to men. In our centres in Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea we also offer a range of courses including IT training. Our Physical Activities programme  includes Pilates and Tai Chi, Dance Mix and Seated Exercise while our Arts & Culture programme includes Still Life & Life Drawing, Mindfulness and an exciting choice of Trips, Visits and social events.

It's easy to join Open Age; our membership form can be found on our website or picked up in our centres.
