Exeter Community Energy

Community organisation providing free energy and money saving advice

Exeter Community Energy is a community led organisation based in Devon. Our Healthy Homes for Wellbeing project delivers free energy and money saving to residents in Exeter, Mid Devon, East Devon, Teignbridge and Torbay.

We are help as many people as possible who struggle to afford to heat their homes. We can do energy tariff comparisons, to find the right supplier and tariff for the householder.

We can help residents with applying for grants/accessing schemes for broken gas boilers, cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, or replacement night storage heaters. We will help residents set their heating controls correctly.

We can provide a free energy efficiency Home Visit . During this visit we will help the householder understand the simple things they can do that do not cost anything but will help reduce their energy consumption.

We can also provide free energy saving measures to help keep their bills lower, for example fit draught proofing and supply LED light bulbs. We have access to special schemes throughout the year to help with white goods appliance replacements, or household repairs.

We liase with energy companies and help resolve issues surrounding energy debt and supply. We can access fuel vouchers for customers on prepay meters who are facing particular hardship.

We can also help with benefits checks and debt support.
