Disability Together is the new name for Living Options Devon. We are a Devon-based charity working to create access and opportunity for Disabled people to live with more choice, control and independence. Over 10,000 people use our services every year – from wellbeing and peer support, to advice, training and advocacy.
Through clear advice, wellbeing services and hands-on training, we support Disabled people with a range of impairments or conditions.
This includes people with physical and sensory impairments – including those who are blind, d/Deaf British Sign Language (BSL) users and those with hearing loss – people with long-term health conditions, invisible impairments, learning difficulties, people requiring mental wellbeing support, and people who are neurodivergent.
The support and services we provide includes
• Time to Talk: Free, confidential listening support and advice helpline
• Accessible counselling: Six free sessions of accessible counselling for Disabled people and members of the Deaf community (British Sign Language Users) across Devon.
• Deaf wellbeing services: The Deaf wellbeing service at Disability Together brings British Sign Language (BSL) users together for social connection and wellbeing support.
• Countryside Mobility: Providing easy access to the countryside for anyone who has difficulty walking, through an off-road mobility scooter hire scheme. Explore the South West with freedom and ease.
• Sight and Hearing services: providing information, advice and equipment hire to support sight and hearing loss.
• Devon Disability Voice (DDV): Enabling disabled and Deaf people to campaign and be involved in developing the support services.
