I set up Katie Julia Parent Care to support parents, before and after birth, in this beautiful, chaotic transition of parenthood.
I'm married and have three boys, I have also experienced fertility struggles and pregnancy loss. Each experience has been a gift and a challenge but we haven't always found enough spaces, support or skills to help us through these chapters.
My aim is to help provide you with tools and support to enable you to grow and thrive in your parenthood journey.
I have spent 20 years working with families. I’ve worked in an NGO in the UK, Spain & California for a few years, before working in Education as a Youth worker, coach/mentor, Special Needs Teaching Assistant & a Primary Teacher- specialising in Early Years. I stopped teaching when I finally became a mum after a pregnancy loss & long fertility journey.
Alongside my education background, I am:
A Bringing Baby Home Parent Educator - a research based course created by the Gottman Institute for expectant parents & parents with a new baby to create stronger relationships with baby, and with each other.
A Beyond Birth mental wellbeing practitioner and offer parents spaces and tools to support themselves & CARE for their wellbeing during pregnancy and postnatally.
I also:
Trained with Peter Walker to be able to offer baby massage/soft yoga as part of my CARE package; touch is so therapeutic for both baby & parent!
A Trained Coach who is committed to my own personal growth and regularly attends supervision & my own therapy/coaching.
A Breastfeeding Peer Supporter
Run regular Maternal Journal sessions to promote maternal mental health
Have lived experience of motherhood, postnatal depression, fertility and pregnancy loss.
