Holding On Letting Go is a dedicated charity offering free bereavement support to children, young people (up to age 18), and their families across Kent and South East London. We help children and young people hold onto precious memories and let go of the sad ones, providing compassionate care before and after the death of someone close.

Our services include:

  • Pre-bereavement support: Helping children and families prepare for an expected death, the funeral, and facing the future.
  • Post-bereavement support: Supporting children and families after a bereavement, whether recent or many years later. We are here to help at any stage.
  • Support for families, parents, and carers: Face-to-face, one-to-one, telephone support, and postal resource packs to help you understand and support your child’s grief.
  • Community outreach: Working within the community to support bereaved children and their families.
  • Training for professionals: Specialist bereavement support team offering tailored training to help professionals support children in the early stages of grief.

Anyone can make a referral to us, including families, friends, teachers, or GPs. Our support is available for children and young people experiencing bereavement due to illness, injury, accident, suicide, or traumatic death.

All services are free of charge to the children and families we support.
