Support for Cycling - Adaptive Cycling

Who - Aimed at SEND adults who wish to have support for cycling to learn to ride, trialing equipment, building confidence, wellbeing or commuting.

Coaching is tailor made and can cover any areas of riding using bicycles or adaptive cycles.

Receive one to one sessions from a professional cycling coach.

Support staff are welcome to participate in sessions (equipment can be provided if required).

Time - Up to 6 hours  - Recommended sessions between 1 or 2 hours. Use as much of the 6 hours as you wish.

Sessions can take place at a convenient time for you. Morning, afternoon or evening. Some weekend appointments are also available.

As this is a tailor made service please liaise with your coach via the contact details provided to arrange a day and time to meet. Sessions can be booked a one at a time or as a block.

Locations -  Your coach can meet you at your home, work or place of study in Plymouth City or within the commute to work area.

It is possible to use Plymouth's dedicated adaptive cycling hub facility at Brickfields leisure center, Devonport for a private and secure riding experience. Other traffic free locations within the city can also be used, we can discuss your riding needs and choose an appropriate and convenient location.

Equipment - If you already have a cycle, that's great otherwise a cycle and helmet can be provided for any session without charge.

Opportunity to try a selection of equipment to meet your needs.

We have access to use

Bicycles, Tricycles, Tandems, Handcycle, Recumbents and a wheelchair cycle (coach ridden)

In some circumstances we may not have access to equipment to meet specific needs. If this is the case we maybe able to recommend an alternative provider (note that their offer may well have a fee)

This opportunity is delivered as part of Plymouth City Councils 'Plymotion' program by Plymouth School Sports Partnership.
