Mind Over Mountains is a mental health charity that brings together the healing power of nature, mindfulness, and time with experienced coaches and counsellors. We provide retreats and walks across England and Wales and in 2024, we'll be delivering five free wellbeing walks within the Lake District National Park. Our walks are intentionally mindful. Our walks are not a race or a challenge event and are designed to be accessible for individuals with a moderate level of physical fitness. They will suit individuals with a wide range of mental health challenges but are not appropriate for individuals in mental health crisis. If in doubt about a walk's suitability, please contact us at info@mindovermountains.org.uk.
- A typical wellbeing walk starts at 9am and finishes at 4pm and might cover 8 or 9 miles at a relatively slow pace.
- We build in plenty of stops to experience and enjoy nature and to engage in opportunities for mindfulness, led by our expert wellbeing team.
- Each walk provides the chance to walk and talk, with other walkers and with our specialist coaches and counsellors, enabling participants to unpack and explore the big questions and challenges they face.
- Our walk leaders are qualified Mountain or Hill & Moorland Leaders, all trained in first aid and responsible for health & safety throughout the event.
Our five Lake District walks in 2024 are as follows:
- Feb 24 - Great Langdale
- Apr 27 - Patterdale
- Jun 15 - Hartsop
- Sep 14 - Keswick
- Nov 9 - Coniston
