Volunteer with FareShare South West. We take good-to-eat surplus food that would otherwise go to waste and redistribute it to frontline charities, schools and community hubs. As a volunteer you might be picking and packing food in the warehouse, driving a van or assisting the driver, or helping with admin tasks. In return you'll have the support of a friendly team, an inclusive positive atmosphere among staff and volunteers, and the knowledge that you're doing something great for local people and for the environment.
Volunteers come from many different backgrounds. We welcome and support people who are in recovery; people who benefit from more structure in their week and a regular routine; people who are out of work or are not able to work but would like to build confidence or learn new skills. We also provide an employability scheme called FareChance for young people who want to develop life skills and build pathways into work or education.
