The Harrow Educational Psychology Service supports children and young people from birth to 25 years old, especially those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our team of qualified Educational Psychologists works with children, young people, parents/carers, teachers, and other professionals to help overcome learning, communication, and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
We offer a range of services, including:
- Meetings with schools and families
- Observing children in different settings
- One-to-one assessments and group work
- Intervention programmes
- Training and supporting staff
- Bereavement or critical incident support
- Statutory assessment advice and annual review contributions
Our approach is collaborative, working closely with parents, carers, and school staff to understand each child's needs and develop positive solutions. All maintained Harrow schools are linked to an Educational Psychologist who visits regularly, and we also support Harrow residents in other educational settings, including pre-schools and colleges. Children attending schools out of borough with an Education, Health and Care Plan may also receive support.
We follow the SEND Code of Practice and contribute to both local and national strategic development, as well as supervising other education professionals.
How to access our service: Parents and carers should first speak to their child's school SENCo or Inclusion Manager. Requests for our services must be made by a school or educational setting, but parents and carers can contact us with questions using our enquiry form.
