Mental Health Drop-in Centre and Wellbeing Activities
Verified service

Pepper's - A Safe Place offers friendly and welcoming drop-in sessions and activities for adults who want to combat loneliness and improve their mental health and wellbeing.

Our centres in Oakham and Melton Mowbray provide a safe, supportive environment where you can take a break, socialise, and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. Whether you're new to the area or simply looking for a sense of community, everyone is welcome. If you're lucky, there might even be cake!

  • Drop-in sessions: Meet friendly faces, make new connections, and find your safe place.
  • Activity sessions: Try something new with chair yoga, music, gardening, crafts, and more. Activities are designed to relieve stress and help you get involved at your own pace.
  • Neighbourhood Mental Health Café: We host the Rutland Neighbourhood Mental Health Café on Thursday and Sunday evenings, offering immediate support, 1:2:1 listening, and transport options. This is a separate project, staffed by trained listeners and funded by the NHS.

Session times:

  • Melton: Mondays and Wednesdays, 11:00–13:00 (plus additional activities)
  • Oakham: Mondays 10:00–12:00, Tuesdays 10:30–12:30, Thursdays 12:00–14:00 (plus additional activities)

Who can attend? All adults are welcome—no referral or booking required. Just drop in during our opening hours.

Cost: All sessions are free to attend.

Join us to combat isolation, have fun, and become part of a supportive community. We look forward to welcoming you!
