British Gas Energy Trust is an independent charitable trust dedicated to helping individuals and families across England, Wales, and Scotland who are struggling with energy debt and fuel poverty.

What we offer:

  • Energy debt write-off grants – Apply for grants of up to £2,000 to clear domestic gas and electricity debts. These grants are available to customers of British Gas and other suppliers.
  • Emergency support – Access small grants for emergency energy vouchers and essential white goods through our trusted partner network.
  • Free money and energy advice – Get help with energy bills, financial hardship, budgeting, and understanding your bills from over 40 advice-giving organisations funded by the Trust.
  • Community outreach – Expert advisors bring money and energy advice directly into local communities.
