Havering Talking Therapies

Havering Talking Therapies Service offers a wide range of confidential, evidence-based psychological therapies for adults experiencing common mental health difficulties. Our service is designed to support people living in the London Borough of Havering who are feeling distressed by difficult life events or struggling with their mental health.

What we offer:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Silvercloud: Online self-help CBT programme
  • Mindfulness-based CBT
  • Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
  • Counselling for Depression (CFD)
  • Couples Therapy for Depression
  • Behavioural Couples Therapy (BCT)
  • Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT)
  • Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR)

We provide support for a range of issues, including:

  • Anxiety, depression, stress, and panic disorder
  • Phobias, OCD, health anxiety, and social anxiety
  • PTSD, loss and grief, and interpersonal difficulties
  • Long-term health conditions and Covid-related anxiety or bereavement

How we deliver therapy:

  • Workshops and groups
  • Online video chat (mobile, desktop, or tablet)
  • Telephone and online treatment (Silvercloud)
  • Face-to-face and one-to-one therapy

Who can access the service?

  • Adults aged 18 or over
  • Registered with a GP in the London Borough of Havering

How to access: You can self-refer online or ask your GP or another health professional to refer you. After referral, a therapist will contact you by phone (usually within 2–10 days) to discuss your needs and agree a treatment plan. Waiting times to start treatment are typically 2–5 months, depending on your needs and availability.

Our team includes: Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, and Counsellors.

Cost: This is a free NHS service for eligible residents.
