Samaritans Isle of Wight

Samaritans of Isle of Wight offers confidential emotional support to anyone who is struggling to cope, feeling distressed, or in crisis. Our friendly and compassionate volunteers are here to listen without judgment, whether you need to talk about your feelings or just want someone to be there for you.

How we can help:

  • Listening service: Speak to us by phone or email for confidential support, day or night.
  • Prisons outreach: We support a Prison Listener scheme at Isle of Wight prisons, helping those in custody who need someone to talk to.
  • Accessible facilities: Our branch is wheelchair accessible and has accessible toilets.

We welcome people from all walks of life and are always looking for new volunteers to join our team. If you are interested in volunteering or supporting us, please get in touch or visit our branch.

Location: Our centre is located at 52 South Street, Newport, next to the Fire Station. We also have a shop at Lugley Street in Newport.

Contact us: Call our free helpline on 116 123 (available 24/7), or our local number 01983 524914 (local call charges apply). You can also email us for support or general enquiries.

Cost: All support services are free and confidential.

We depend on public support to keep our branch running. If you would like to donate, volunteer, or learn more, please visit our website or contact us directly.
