Chiltern Music Therapy

Chiltern Music Therapy is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to transforming lives through the power of music. We offer specialist digital and in-person services across England, supporting people of all ages and abilities to connect, communicate, and thrive.

The way that the brain processes music is totally unique, meaning we can support people in ways other therapies simply cannot.
Our music therapy and community music sessions are tailored to the individual to help meet their needs and reach their goals.

From music therapy to community music, we come to you - at home, in school, in hospital, or online.

Our team of qualified therapists provides a range of services, including:

Music Therapy: Tailored individual or group sessions to support communication, cognition, motor skills, mental health, and emotional wellbeing.
Neurologic Music Therapy®: Evidence-based techniques for people with neurological conditions, focusing on improving speech, cognition, and motor skills, while also supporting emotional health.
Community Music: Group sessions for those who enjoy music-making and singing, fostering community, joy, and connection.
We deliver our services in homes, schools, hospitals, and online, making music therapy accessible wherever you are. Our therapists work flexibly to meet your needs, and we are always expanding our reach—if you don’t see a therapist near you, please get in touch.

Our team has a thorough understanding of psychodynamic, medical, behavioural and person-centred approaches, meaning we are flexible in our approach and can meet the needs of each setting or person we work with.

We support people of all ages with a range of needs including:
• Learning disabilities
• Mental health, social or behavioural difficulties
• A brain injury or neuro-disability
• Dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
• Autism

Our services are available both in-person and digitally to suit your needs and we can also provide a blended approach combining digital content, activity programmes to complete at home and face-to-face sessions.

We currently run a range of community groups working with local groups and organisations across England. These are led by both our Music Therapists and Community Musicians.

Whatever your age or need, we are here to support you!
