Day centre for adults with moderate learning disablites & autism

Centa Co day centre, Chatham

Our organisation was established in 2009 and we have been a contracted provider of day services for Medway Council for nearly 10 years. We also have contracts with the NHS and Kent County Council.

We support adults with moderate learning disabilities and autism. Our main focus is to support our clients to socialise and network together in a safe, engaging environment. Our 2000 sq ft unit is purposely open plan as this promotes interaction.

Many activities are on offer, including:

  1. Console gaming - we have 12 consoles incl. PS5
Computing & computer training (we have 7 laptops)
Pool table (slate bed) & pool competitions
Mini cinema cinema with 75" inch large screen
    1,000 DVDs
    Amazon prime films
    YouTube on many screens
Music stage with full size piano, electronic keyboard, drums & guitars
    Coffee lounge
Sky rolling news is on all day
    Table tennis (full size)
Gym with treadmill, cycling machine & weights
    Model making
    DIY skills training and woodwork
    Money handling skills training
Private outside area to relax in

We also do activities in the community such as golf, bowling and country parks and we do day trips to interesting places such as London museums, animal parks, the seaside, steam railways and air shows.

Our fee is £61.07 per day (incl. VAT). We provide a minibus pick-up and drop-off service within Medway for £2 per day. If a client is paying privately, we always consider giving a discount.

We currently support only males from Monday to Friday, owing to safeguarding reasons, but are planning to start a autistic female group on Sundays. We also have a special session on Saturdays for non-verbal autistic individuals with complex needs.

Potential clients are most welcome to come for a pop-in visit with a parent or carer to see what we do first hand. After that, they are entitled to three, free assessment sessions (a parent or carer can accompany them if they wish) for no charge to try us out.
