Peterborough Foodbank

“The foodbank was there when we really needed it, it was an absolute lifeline.”

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Our foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area.

Our project is inclusive and is open to clients and volunteers of all backgrounds, faith and nationality.

Our aim is to show God’s love in action for those that are struggling or in poverty. Not only do we provide food parcels, but offer signposting and a listening ear. We hope to be able to develop to offer more services that our clients need to help lift them out of the their crisis.

Service access criteria: Our clients need to obtain a Foodbank Voucher to receive an emergency supply of food. These are available from a wide range of care professionals in the city.
