Saint Michaels Hospice bereavement counselling

You’re not alone. St Michael’s Hospice Bereavement Service warmly extends confidential support to anyone who has lost a loved one, whether they were under our care or not. Our dedicated Supportive Care Team provides comprehensive support for both adults and children, offering understanding, compassion, and a listening ear during your time of need.

Our care, when you need it most: Grieving is a natural part of life, but losing someone you love can be incredibly challenging. Many people find comfort in talking to someone outside their immediate circle. We offer a range of support options, including group events and personalised one-on-one sessions, respecting the unique way each person copes with grief.

  • Support Groups: Join one of our welcoming and free support groups, open to anyone in Herefordshire, regardless of their connection to St Michael’s. You’ll find a compassionate community ready to help.
  • Counselling and Listening Support: Our counselling service is available for those affected by terminal illness—patients, family members, or carers. Talking through your experiences can help you recognise challenges, make positive changes, and enhance your wellbeing.
  • Spiritual Care: Chaplains and spiritual care volunteers offer bereavement support, including home visits, to ensure you receive the spiritual care you need.
  • Support for Children and Young People: Our HOPE program provides group and individual support for children and young people aged 5–25, helping families navigate loss and grief together.
  • Practical Support: Our social workers assist with practical, financial, social, and emotional aspects of bereavement, helping you manage life’s ongoing challenges.
  • Community Bereavement Choir: Join our New Days Choir—no singing experience required! Just come along, sing, and try something new in a supportive environment.

All services are free of charge. We are here to help you put one foot in front of the other, every day. If you need support, please reach out—our team is ready to help you find strength and comfort.
