Foodbank Vouchers

Havering Volunteer Centre acts as a referral point and voucher issuer to help Havering residents access emergency food support. The service works with Havering’s three Trussell Trust foodbanks and does not operate a foodbank itself. If you’re facing financial hardship, you can contact Havering Volunteer Centre on 01708 922214. Staff will take basic details about your household, assess your immediate needs, decide whether an emergency food voucher is appropriate, issue a voucher, and explain where and how you can redeem it. Vouchers are generally issued after a telephone assessment, and there is a limit of 3 vouchers within any 6-month period under the Trussell Trust system. If you have reached the voucher limit, the centre can still signpost you to other support services. The three foodbanks supported are: Collier Row & Romford Foodbank; Harold Hill Foodbank; Rainham Foodbank. Each foodbank has its own opening times and local coverage: Collier Row & Romford Foodbank serves Romford/Collier Row area and is open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:00–14:00; Collier Row location operates on Fridays from 12:30–14:30. Harold Hill Foodbank is open Monday–Friday, 10:30–13:30. Rainham Foodbank serves the southern part of the borough and is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 12:00–15:00, with Fresh Food Fridays (no voucher required) on Fridays from 09:00–11:00. The centre’s role is to provide the referral and voucher-issuing function, while the foodbanks distribute the food parcels to clients.
