Boxing Futures is a dynamic charity dedicated to improving the physical and mental health and wellbeing of disadvantaged young people in Peterborough. Through non-contact boxing, positive relationships, and skill-building, Boxing Futures helps participants develop confidence, motivation, and core soft skills.
What makes Boxing Futures special?
- Non-contact boxing sessions led by an experienced Head Coach (ex-pro boxer) to build physical health, discipline, and self-esteem.
- Group activities designed to reduce isolation and loneliness, fostering camaraderie and a sense of belonging.
- Peer-led discussions and forums covering topics such as mental wellbeing, conflict resolution, healthy relationships, sexual health, and staying safe.
- Opportunities to earn up to three Level 1 Qualifications in life skills like peer mentoring, money management, and sports leadership.
- Fun social activities including shared meals, volunteering, and outdoor experiences to reinforce a prosocial mindset.
- Special programmes: 'Sisters Through Boxing' for young people identifying as female, and 'Brothers Through Boxing' for those identifying as male. Both are 25-week journeys meeting weekly.
Why join? Participants report feeling mentally and physically healthier, more confident, and empowered to pursue their goals. All sessions and activities are free to attend.
