NCT Birth, Feeding and You

NCT Birth, Feeding and You offers free community infant feeding and emotional wellbeing peer support for families across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire. Jointly commissioned by Peterborough City Council and Cambridgeshire County Council, this service is designed to help parents and carers feel supported during the early years of their child's life.

What to expect:

  • Relaxed 'Chill & Chat' groups: Stay and play sessions with toys for babies and toddlers, a hot drink for parents, and the chance to meet other local families.
  • No specific support need required to attend—everyone is welcome.
  • Friendly, non-judgemental, trained peer supporters are always available to listen, offer support and information, and signpost to other services.
  • Peer supporters are trained by NCT and accredited by the Open College Network.
  • One-to-one support is available via Facebook, phone, or email.
  • Volunteering opportunities: If you’re interested in becoming a peer supporter, contact the team for a chat about training.

Practical information:

  • Parking: Free parking at venues or nearby on-street parking.
  • Pram/pushchair parking: Volunteers are happy to help; sleeping babies can stay in their pram in the group room.
  • Facilities: Accessible toilets and baby change available at venues.

Access and inclusivity: NCT understands attending a new group can be daunting. You can chat with a peer supporter before attending by messaging their Facebook page or emailing them.

Cost: All groups and support are free.

How to join: NCT runs face-to-face 'Chill & Chat' groups and a weekly online group (contact via Facebook or email for the link).
