Cam Sight runs monthly groups across Cambridgeshire for adults living with low vision and blindness, as well as their carers and family members. These groups offer a welcoming space to meet others, share tips, and build community with people who have similar experiences.
What we offer:
- Peer support groups for adults with sight loss
- Benefits advice and guidance
- Befriending and guiding services
- Advice on equipment and technology for vision impairment
Groups meet on weekday mornings or afternoons and include a variety of activities such as guest speakers, entertainment, quizzes, and light refreshments. Members are kept up to date on the latest equipment and support available from Cam Sight and other organisations.
Current group activities:
- Peer Support Group: 1st Wednesday of each month, 10am–12pm at King Edwards Community Centre, Chatteris
- Ten Pin Bowling: 3rd Wednesday of each month at Play 2 Day in Guyhirn
Carers and relatives are welcome to attend. Please contact Cam Sight to confirm activities are running and for details of other group meetings in your area.
Cost: There is no membership fee for support groups.
Cam Sight can advise on and help source equipment for people with sight loss. Volunteer opportunities are available, including driving members to groups or befriending visits at home. Volunteers receive professional support and training.
