Deafblind UK is a national charity dedicated to supporting people with combined sight and hearing loss, as well as their families and carers. Our mission is to help individuals with deafblindness live the lives they want, with greater confidence, independence, and connection.
Living with dual sensory loss can be challenging and sometimes frightening. Our team of experts is here to reassure, advise, and offer a friendly ear whenever you need someone to turn to. We provide a range of free support services, including:
- Helpline – Speak to our team for advice, reassurance, or just someone to talk to.
- Wellbeing and emotional support – Get help managing the emotional impact of sight and hearing loss.
- Care and support – Practical assistance to help you live independently.
- Befriending – Connect with others and reduce feelings of isolation.
- Social groups – Join activities and meet people who understand your experiences.
- Technology – Advice and support to help you make the most of technology.
- Empowering support – Build your confidence and skills.
- Open Hand magazine – A free quarterly publication with articles and information tailored for people with dual sensory loss.
Some additional services, such as holidays and supported living, are available for a fee. Please contact us for details about costs and eligibility.
You can also get involved by volunteering or supporting our campaigns. We welcome anyone who wants to make a difference in the lives of people with deafblindness.
All our free support is available throughout South Cambridgeshire District and across the UK.
