First Step supports families of babies and young children with special needs and/or disabilities in Havering. It offers family support groups and practical, emotional support for the whole family.
- Weekly Family Support Groups during school term time, in morning or afternoon sessions
- Holiday sessions during the year, where siblings under 8 can also attend
- Support to understand your child’s and family’s needs and build a family-centred plan
- Help with communication methods, strategies and motivators to nurture your child
- Peer support with other families, plus one-to-one support for specific needs such as preparing Disability Living Allowance applications
