APPLE (Association of Prostate Patients in London and Essex) is dedicated to supporting men affected by prostate cancer and raising public awareness about the condition. Founded in 2000, our mission is built on three pillars: Information, Education, and Support.
We encourage men to seek advice from their GP early, as prostate cancer is highly responsive to treatment when detected promptly. Our friendly team of trained volunteers is ready to listen, share experiences, and offer confidential support to anyone affected by prostate cancer. While we do not provide medical advice, we offer a safe space to talk and connect with others who understand what you are going through.
What we offer:
- Monthly Support Group Meetings: Held every second Monday of the month from 7:45 pm to 9:00 pm at Fullwell Cross Library – Aldborough Room, 140 High Street, Barkingside, Essex, IG6 2EA. These meetings provide an opportunity to share experiences, ask questions, and receive emotional support.
- One-to-One Telephone Support: Speak confidentially with a volunteer who has personal experience with prostate cancer. We can also arrange a suitable time and venue to meet in person if preferred.
- Information and Education: We provide resources and guidance to help you understand prostate cancer and make informed decisions about your health.
