CHEER is your local charity dedicated to supporting people over 60 in Elmbridge, North Surrey. For over 70 years, we have been helping older residents feel less lonely and more connected to their community.
We offer a range of free and friendly services designed to make life easier and more enjoyable:
- Befriending: We match clients with volunteer befrienders for regular visits, offering companionship and a friendly face.
- Events: Join us for regular social gatherings, lunches, and activities for older people, carers, and volunteers. These events are a great way to meet new friends and enjoy a welcoming atmosphere.
- Benefits Help: Our team provides expert support with benefits claims (East Elmbridge only), including Attendance Allowance and other entitlements. We guide you through the forms and help you get the support you deserve.
- Parkinson’s Group: We run a dedicated group for people living with Parkinson’s and their carers, offering support and connection.
- Information and Advice: We help identify unmet needs and link you to other local services that can help.
Our services are free and open to anyone over 60 living in Elmbridge. We are funded by local grants and donations, and our friendly team is here to help you or your loved ones feel supported and valued.
