Merton Peer Support Service

Merton Peer Support Service offers emotional and practical support for people experiencing mental health difficulties in the Merton borough. Delivered in partnership with South West London and St. George’s Mental Health NHS Trust, Off the Record, and Jigsaw4u, this service is part of the Integrated Recovery Hub (IRH) and aims to provide timely access to a wide range of holistic mental health and wellbeing interventions.

What we offer:

  • 1-2-1 Peer Support: Up to 12 weekly or bi-weekly sessions with a Peer Support Worker, available in person (in community venues like libraries or coffee shops), online, or by phone. These sessions focus on emotional challenges, coping mechanisms, and creating a wellbeing plan tailored to your recovery goals.
  • Group Peer Support: Safe, supportive groups and workshops led by Peer Support Volunteers, held for up to 6 weeks on pre-agreed topics. Self-Management Peer Support Groups are also available, where participants support each other and share experiences in managing wellbeing.

Key features:

  • Person-centred, strength-based approach focused on your individual needs and recovery goals.
  • Flexible delivery, including consideration of weekend or early evening support.
  • Access to local services to promote community inclusion and sustainable recovery.
  • Practical advice and information to help you find the right support for your needs.

Peer Support Workers use their own lived experience of mental health difficulties to offer educational, emotional, and practical support. The service is designed to help you live as independently and fully as possible, tackling isolation and supporting your wellbeing.
