Heanor Autism Family Support Hub

The hub is a 'stay and play' type event for parents/carers, and children 11 and under to attend, where children can play, and adults can chat or ask for autism information, advice and guidance from hub staff or other adults. No autism diagnosis is necessary, siblings are also welcome, and the hub is free of charge.

The hub is really relaxed and non-judgemental, with a variety of things to do, and gives children a chance to play and parents/carers a chance to chat to others or hub staff. There's no pressure to take part in anything, or to make anything, and if everyone is making lunch, there's no pressure to actually eat it either. Some children sit and play with one toy the whole time, others just run around and don’t really settle to anything - as long they're safe and happy we don’t mind! This hub is a drop in so no need to turn up at the start or stay to the end.
