Live Healthier Havering is a free and inclusive weight management support service for adults in Havering, delivered by Everyone Active. Our expert-led programme helps you make sustainable changes to your eating habits and lifestyle, supporting you to lose weight, boost your energy, and improve your overall wellbeing.
What does the programme involve?
- 12-week group-based courses, open to adults (18+) of all genders and abilities.
- Weekly 2-hour sessions:
- 1 hour classroom-based learning covering topics like the Eatwell Guide, food labelling, portion sizes, emotional eating, and building healthy routines.
- 45 minutes of low-impact physical activity, suitable for all abilities and designed to support your personal goals.
- Confidential weight and measurement tracking at each session.
- Supportive environment with opportunities to socialise and share experiences.
- Access to WhatsApp or Facebook groups for sharing tips, recipes, and encouragement.
- Special healthy lifestyle programme available for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities.

- Average weight loss of 5% for those completing the full programme.

Where and when? Courses run at several leisure centres across Havering, including Rainham Leisure Centre, Central Park Leisure Centre, and Sapphire Ice and Leisure, with sessions available on weekdays and evenings. New courses start in May and September each year.
Cost: Completely free for eligible participants, thanks to local funding.
How to join: Complete the online referral form to register your interest. Places are prioritised for residents in higher deprivation postcodes due to limited funding. Once registered, you’ll be contacted with course details.

- BMI equal to or greater than 25 kg/m² (adjusted to 23kg/m² in people of Black African, African Caribbean and Asian origin) up to BMI of 44.9 kg/m²
