Foodbank and More Than Food Programme

Harold Hill Foodbank is part of a nationwide network supported by the Trussell Trust, providing emergency food parcels and compassionate support to people in crisis.

If you are struggling to put food on the table, we are here to help. Our service is designed to offer three days of emergency food and additional support to address the reasons behind your crisis.

  • How to access help:
  • Contact us by phone or email to discuss your situation. We can connect you with a local agency that can issue a foodbank voucher.
  • Referral agencies include Citizens Advice, housing support officers, children’s centres, health visitors, social services, and local charities.
  • If you are in financial crisis and live in England or Wales, you can call the free national helpline (0808 208 2138, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm) to speak confidentially with a trained Citizens Advice adviser. They can help you maximise your income, navigate benefits, and issue a voucher if needed.
  • Alternatively, contact Peabody (01708 776770) or Havering Welfare Reforms (01708 434 343) for local support and voucher assessment.
  • Once you have a voucher, bring it to your nearest foodbank centre. Our volunteers will welcome you, discuss any dietary needs, and exchange your voucher for a food parcel. We aim to provide a non-judgemental, cafe-style environment and support you in any other ways we can.

We also offer:

  • Warm drinks and friendly conversation
  • Support for additional needs (please let us know if you require translation or accessibility support)
  • Information about volunteering and donating

If you have questions, please visit our FAQs page or contact us directly. We are here to help you through difficult times.
